How much have you donated? TV time isn't free Because he chose to take federal funds for his election, McCain is limited in how much he can spend. Obama did not and is not so limited.
So it really doesn't matter how much someone donated, McCain might not be able to spend it anyway.
But he can give up something else. He can concentrate his money into the battleground states, he can get his message, whatever it is, out.
