ping!
What’s bad for the media in this story is that people naturally become interested in the ex-brother-in-law angle and when they want to learn more about WHY?, it is all the more apparent what a pathetic excuse this was for an ‘investigation’. Wooten is not the kind of state trooper to support.
It’s unclear what impact the so-called “troopergate” investigation in Alaska may have on the presidential election......
How about a BIG ZERO?........
To quote from the politically motivated Branchflower Report to the Legislative Council:
“I find that, although Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired . . ., it was likely a contributing factor . . .. In spite of that, Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her consitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.”
There will be a lot of fallout from this in Alaska, but not until long after the November election.
