“We’re as mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore!”

What McCain is starting to see and feel is the pent up rage of the American middle class for high oil prices, the bailout, and the MSM total distortion of the news for Obama.

He better respond to it or it will just get worse. Saying we don’t have to fear Obama as president is not helping. Saying were are going to reach across the isle to these SOBs is not helping. American is looking for a leader and a fighter and McCain better show some sterner stuff.

It's concerns that this episode may be laying the groundwork for a future Obama Kristnallacht on conservative 'hate speech'.

Imagine some agitprop event (e.g. some plant making a staged attempt on Obama, or some other quasi-terrorist act). Then it's time to scapegoat the entire conservative movement, and voila, here's the Fairness Doctrine - with leftist interpretations of 'balance', and then you can say adios to political free speech.

I fear McCain has already walked into a trap, tacitly giving cover to the idea that frank talk is inappropriate, and that his supporters need to be reigned in, and I can see this being used later.
