INSIDE STORY: Senator McCain Punts on Acorn !
Gretawire ^ | October 10th, 2008 | Greta Van Susteren

FNC Embed Producer Mosheh just sent me this info…..scroll down to the bottom and you will see what Senator McCain says about ACORN (but he discusses other matters here as well): From: Oinounou, Mosheh To: Sent: Fri Oct 10 21:17:18 2008 Subject: URGENT: MCCAIN TRIES TO TAMP DOWN SUPPORTERS SAYING TAKE DOWN OBAMA FNC LIVE Lakeville, MN Town Hall Meeting McCain is trying to tone down the over-the-top, extremist and bigoted rhetoric coming from his supporters with a simple message “it’s got to be respectful.” It did not go over that well among some of his hardcore Republican base who repeatedly booed the GOP nominee and that message today. It was really a must see. At his second straight town hall meeting in as many days-McCain was repeatedly (6 different times in fact–including by former US Sen. Rudy Boschwitz) called on to fight harder against Obama and bring up the Democrat’s associations with Bill Ayers, Wright and others-but McCain tamped down his recent “who is the real barrack obama” rhetoric and begged supporters to conduct themselves in a respectful manner Friday. (SEE PLEA TO FIGHT HARDER VERBATES 1-6 below) But, he was booed multiple times for calling for respect and at one point had to grab the mic from one supporter who called Obama an Arab and defended him as a “decent family man citizen.”

You're a joke, John. And you're an idiot.

Memo to Republican Party: After McCain and Dole, don't run aging Senators who are more worried about "collegiality" than WINNING.

Palin/DeMint 2012

You are correct. It is nice to see a few adults like you posting on this site.

John McCain is in a very delicate situation. He cannot let his rallies turn into "Jerry Springer shows."

There is a bitter current of perceived racism just below the surface of this election and McCain is wisely and patiently walking around the minefield.

Many of the worst outbursts in these crowds may very well be Obama agitators trying to turn McCain rallies into ugly displays that only serve to hurt the greater cause of getting McCain-Palin elected.

Exactly.

My husband may be right - electing Obama, who is in reality Carter II, will ensure we'll get real conservatives from hereon after.

The thought of a Black Panther Muslim sympathizer in the White House makes me ill.

McCain knows something many people like you do not understand.

A John McCain victory is only the beginning of trying to solve some terrible problems in this country. McCain cannot win a pyrrhic victory. A pyrrhic victory is one in which the battle is won but does so much lasting damage to the winning army, the victorious army is forever and fatally weakened.

McCain cannot become president by destroying every vestige of cooperation. Such a victory could lead to another American Civil War.

Ironically, McCain's appeal to bipartisanship may never work anyway because there is so little in common between the bitter foes on either side of politics in this country.

There is virtually no common ground between left and right in America and as pointed out in the Bible long ago, "a house divided against itself cannot stand."

“Exactly. Has anybody identified the disrupters as real Republicans?”

Nope. And BO has used dirty tactics like this from his first campaign, and I think we need to be aware and not get into this with them. It’s their goal. Cindy had just said, a few days ago, that she had never seen such a dirty campaign as BO’s. Right now, they’re trying to push us over the edge, and from the way it’s looked around here lately, they’re having great success.

Anyway, I have a feeling they were plants, and I believe Mac had his suspicions also. Folks, you’re setting yourselves up if you expect him to get into the mud like they’re taunting him to do. If he did as some of you would like, that would be the end, and you know it. The MSM would forget about ACORN, Ayers, Rezco, etc., and you’d be wondering what happened.

If the guy wasn’t a plant, he’s doing their work for them, because as on edge as I am, I would never shout out those kinds of comments. Being angry and asking Mac to fight is one thing, but the comments I heard were way over the top, and I don’t blame McCain for answering as he did.

I got to say, I have no idea what McCain will do if he wins. He’s all over the place as far as I can see. What are his core values?

His core values are to work with the Democrats because they like him if he does that. Apparently, that is important to him.

My core values say to save the country by electing this jackass and fight him every chance I get until we get someone worthwhile (Sarah) in the White House.

I know...it’s a sorry state of affairs. But if we can stop this coup, (and that’s basically what it is) we’ll at least be free to argue amongst ourselves and with McCain in a free country.

There will be an overwhelming number of arguments against McCain from our side and from the lib side! I’d guess that the executive branch would be pruned back bigtime. And that’s not a bad thing, in my opinion.

So has Obama apologized yet for his disruptors????

Possibly yes, though he’s so dumb as to be suckered into twice the number of idiotic liberal things that Bush has been suckered into.

I’m voting for Sarah and against the communist coup. Frankly, Senator McCain has sold out his country so many times that I find it difficult not to separate him from John McCain the war hero who endured unimaginable suffering for his country. I have great respect for one of them and a whole lot of disdain for the other.

Why would he do that? He’s not bi-partisan. That’s McCain’s thing...reach across the aisle to the communist...

I'm sorry, I don't agree with the premise of your statement. Neville Chamberlain tried that, how'd it turn out for him? Talking nice to the Nazi isn't grownup, it's borderline suicidal.

No I do not agree. That is the same theory seen constantly here - let the country be destroyed and then the world will come to our door to save it.

Dictatorships come to the door - not conservatives.

Obama is the start of the destruction of America. Democracies decline once the populace find they can vote funds from the treasury.

Then dictatorship comes.

“I could swear John McCain doesn’t really WANT to be the President -”

Some days this is like watching a three legged race where one partner is dragging the other over the finish line.

You think McCain supporters calling Obama an Arab are helping things? If so, you're an idiot.

Whether calling Barry an Arab, or calling me an idiot, has nothing to do with the fact that most if us want McCain to stand up to Barry, grow a spine, and stop being "Senatorial", or "Collegial", look Barry in the eye and go after him! McCain needs to stop being a Barry apologist, and call it like it is. I truly believe McCain WANTS to get the "Miss Congeniality" award in this campaign as he jokes (ad nauseum) about his reputation in the Senate. I guess I'm just NOT seeing the Maverick we were promised.
