INSIDE STORY: Senator McCain Punts on Acorn !
Gretawire ^ | October 10th, 2008 | Greta Van Susteren

FNC Embed Producer Mosheh just sent me this info…..scroll down to the bottom and you will see what Senator McCain says about ACORN (but he discusses other matters here as well): From: Oinounou, Mosheh To: Sent: Fri Oct 10 21:17:18 2008 Subject: URGENT: MCCAIN TRIES TO TAMP DOWN SUPPORTERS SAYING TAKE DOWN OBAMA FNC LIVE Lakeville, MN Town Hall Meeting McCain is trying to tone down the over-the-top, extremist and bigoted rhetoric coming from his supporters with a simple message “it’s got to be respectful.” It did not go over that well among some of his hardcore Republican base who repeatedly booed the GOP nominee and that message today. It was really a must see. At his second straight town hall meeting in as many days-McCain was repeatedly (6 different times in fact–including by former US Sen. Rudy Boschwitz) called on to fight harder against Obama and bring up the Democrat’s associations with Bill Ayers, Wright and others-but McCain tamped down his recent “who is the real barrack obama” rhetoric and begged supporters to conduct themselves in a respectful manner Friday. (SEE PLEA TO FIGHT HARDER VERBATES 1-6 below) But, he was booed multiple times for calling for respect and at one point had to grab the mic from one supporter who called Obama an Arab and defended him as a “decent family man citizen.”

No, we are not DU’ers. We are trying to make people realize that he is running for President of the United States - not for Bill O’Reilly’s job.

I would like to see more from McCain - but unless he tries to control his crowd he will merely be cast as a riot enabler, race baiter, whatever.

We have to be respectful and some people get out-of-hand and cause more damage than help.

I am against catering to how things will play in the media - but, we have to in a presidential campaign. Look at how they are treating the Palin report.

McCain can steadily and thoughtfully bring up Obama’s associations, the reasons he will not be effective as president. And the ads can be the way to handle it.

Just remember the Wellstone funeral and its impact on the election that year.

I think McCain saw a huge problem in the making, but overcompensated in trying to calm the situation.

First of all, how does it feel for a little payback after 8yrs of the vile crap that they said and are still saying about Bush.

secondly, Palin might not be going through this investigation if the law that Joe Biden championed against spousal and child abuse actually worked!

Liberals have been infiltrating conservative crowds for years shouting violent, racist epithets.

Conservatives should know how to handle it. Point out the vermin, disassociate yourselves and ask that he be removed by police.

Respect is one thing. Everyone should be respected, even Nazis and Commies and terrorists. Punting on the most massive voter fraud since Reconstruction is quite another.

I know, we all want strong fighters like Sarah. I have my doubts about McCain and his “maverick” role. I tend to think he is conditioned by his years of torture to go into protective mode when facing an enemy rather than attack mode. The attack mode might be handled behind the scenes.

But, being rash, ranting, yelling will just further the “irrational behavior” claim of Obama.

I know - I am as mad as you are about this election.

Looks like we are going to have Obama unless our prayers for God’s help are answered.

Agree. I was shocked when I heard what he said. But, radical vengeful conservatives will just be called the “radical kooks”.

There is a way to be firm but effective. Just look at how Sarah works. Look at that debate. Even Pagala (a liberal) claimed she thoroughly enjoyed seeing her come in and in 15 minutes take full control of that debate.

I just about threw up when I saw McCain cowtow to NObama at today's rally. Honorable my #^$! I can't wait to see what happens in the final debate.

I hate the fact that we're going to have to drag this guy across the finish line like Rush says, but we have to to keep The Messiah as far away from the White House as possible. Give ‘em hell Sarah!

Remember when all the Republican contenders were duking it out, and McCain was in the toilet in terms of funding and popularity? Romney was in the lead, and the second place guy was - I don't really remember, maybe it was Huckabee.

And then ALL OF A SUDDEN, Romney et. al faded away and McCain was -Shazzam - THE GUY.

Like someone DECIDED that McCain was the anointed one and the others were 'advised' to just simply shut up and go away.

I've always felt that who wins and who loses is a foregone conclusion - and everything up to and during is simply theater to keep us all occupied - but this Magical McCain Resurrection just clinched that conviction in my mind.

McCain is no conservative, and Palin seems to be getting addicted to her fame.

You and I as taxpayers are going to get screwed no matter who wins.

>> at one point had to grab the mic from one supporter who called Obama an Arab and defended him as a “decent family man citizen.”

Are these folks trying to make McCain’s campaign more difficult than it already is? These trigger words are game changers, and the GOP can’t afford any more ‘Macachinations’.

A better case is made on issues, record, policy, and associations.

McCain will protect his friends on the left of the isle. When it gets personal, McCain forgives the Left and reprimands the Right.

This is the 7th or 8th thread on this subject.
Most posters must be 12 year old girls, the typical overreacting bratty type.

McCain has new ads out blasting Obama, ACORN, etc.

Letting the crowd make charges, especially when the candidate is part African, etc. is a way to play into the Obama trap.
WE don’t need McCAin having to take time to explain or make appologies, to the press, etc.

McCain needs that time to make his points on issues against Obama.

Playing keyboard comando is only helping the left.
Get a grip and realize this may be our last election if Obama wins.

Of course we are - because of the choices we have.

I thought the same thing about McCain coming back - weird at the time. Now, I get the feeling he is just enjoying the run for the White House but that there is no fire to actually win the White House.

All we are doing this election is trying to save our constitution, our freedom, our country. We are not voting for conservatism. There is no conservative running.
