I agree with the dems about fraud.. What we should do to avoid fraud is to require everyone to show ID and declare party affiliation at the time they vote.

Showing ID would be useless in NM. (although in 2004, we conservatives, as a grassroots movement, started showing it voluntarily and with a flourish ). Our Great Governor, in his wisdom allows illegal aliens to get drivers licenses and register to vote, all at the same time, no questions asked.

As a Canadian, I am a little confused at how the fraud can be perpetrated in the first place. I am a Polling Clerk for our upcoming election this October 14th, and everyone coming in to vote at our Polling Station, is on a Voter's List. Here's a link to how we compile our voter's lists in Canada (if you're interested).
Elections Canada Online We use paper ballots, and we have our polling results very quickly. Polls open at 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., ballots are counted immediately, and then we go home. One name - one ballot, proper i.d., oversight and double-check, and no problems with voter fraud. We also have advance polls. The system is nation-wide, identical in all provinces for the federal elections. Not trying to toot our own horn, but this system really works well. I hope the U.S. can come up with a solution to the voter fraud problem, starting with the disbanding of ACORN!!!

I have started showing my drivers license every time I vote. It is my personal protest. I’ve explained to my poll workers why I’m doing it and they seem very supportive. I’m sure they understand what’s at stake as well, or better, than any of us do.
