I think it’s very naive to dismiss this report and how it’s being reported by the MSM. By any objective standard, the report is incredibly damaging, regardless of the conclusion that no laws were broken. It is irrelevant what her own supporters think; there’s no question that we can see the very rational basis upon which the Palins wanted Wooten fired and the very partisan nature of the report. That said, the report unequivocally states that Sarah Palin is in violation of Alaska’s ethics law by allowing a personal issue to interfere in her duties. Rationalizing that by reference to legalese is not going to work, nor is whining about the fact that Obama and his cronies get a free pass on their countless ethical defaults. It doesn’t matter—nothing we think or say matters. This blog, at best, represents a miniscule portion of the electorate who get 99% of their news from the big three and CNN and, if they can read, AP. It’s over—face facts and start stocking ammunition.

Again, it is irrelevant what her own supporters (us) think; the only thing that matters is what the undecideds think and because this will get 10,000 times the coverage of any legitimate critique of Obama (the story already has over 3,000 headlines in Google, nearly 5x as many as the Obama/Acorn connection) means that the election is effectively over.

Worse than this, we now have over 2,000 MSM reports on the numbskulls who were yelling for Obama to be “killed” during McCain rallies, and there isn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell that McCain can win now. The hotheads have completely flushed the undecided/fence-sitters down the toilet. There is absolutely no way for McCain/Palin to win this election now, even if he gets 100% of the conservative vote.

Your post is nails it.
It is now over also I fear. The first few weeks after Palin was nominated I was feeling good. Many folks I would call “independents” were pleased and intrigued by her and her candidacy. Things looked good.
But since the Gibson/ Couric interviews, the reaction I am seeing by most of these people now is that she is a dolt. She reminds them of Bush.

Is it too late for her to drop out because of this and someone else step in? Who could it be? Would it make a difference?

And please do not doubt my commitment to conservatism or think that I am not thrilled by Gov. Palin. I am just being realistic. We cannot fight this DNC/MSM machine that is up to speed and firing on all cylinders.

Good God. Have neither of you been through an election?

Your assessment is wrong, Ilya. Palin has already won over the voters she'll get at this late date. The mouth-breathers who don't get the media manipulation won't snap out of their daze long enough to make it to the polls.

cogburn, your "independents" are affected by the "cool kids are Democrats" syndrome. They are revealed for the mouth-breathers that they are.

They'd better stay away from tlelevision sets, lest they end of with a houseful of useless crap they bought from ads on late-night teevee. "But the nice man on the teevee said the knives would be sharp forever!"

not sure how that could be proved - e/mail sent to someone? i was telling a lie

that law seems like vapor to me - could she sign an abortion law if she had an abortion? what if she did not have an abortion?

divining intent in an action is stoopid as hate laws
