Republican John McCain is telling supporters in Minnesota to stay respectful when it comes to Democrat Barack Obama.
McCain interrupted boos at a town hall meeting Friday in the Twin Cities suburb of Lakeville after he said he admired Obama and his accomplishments.
McCain says he wants supporters to point out the differences between what Obama says and what he has done in the Senate, but he wants them to do it respectfully.
About 2,000 people came to Lakeville South High School for an event that was part campaign rally, part town hall meeting.
Earlier today, he appeared at a rally in La Crosse, Wis., exhorting a crowd to help him win the White House and promising a balanced federal budget before "the end of my term in office."
"We have 25 days until the day of choosing a president," McCain said. "Are you ready to help me and [running mate] Sarah Palin win the state of Wisconsin?"
The crowd in the La Crosse Center's South Hall responded with a defeaning roar of support.

Gosh - what a difference from this morning in LaCrosse - I don't know what to make of this...
Did anyone here watch the video of the entire event?
Make signs to tape on inside of top or bottom of back window (no obstruction of view -- or inside back window of car
The only way Barack Obama will be elected President is for us to fail to tell enough voters.

When are McCain, Obama, and Biden going to resign from the Senate like Bob Dole did?
There’s a time and a place for everything.
If McCain is still trailing in the polls after the third debate-and he probably will- then I think you’ll see him get after Obama.
Remember - due to the “Kill him” comment made at a recent rally, the feds are doing an investigation. That may be why McCain is trying to calm things down. Or he could be giving Hussein a false sense of security.
The clip that Carl Cameron showed on Fox was enough.
I love that pic.
That’s what I figured.

He isn’t known as McLame for nothing.
Nov. 5th?
I bet his testosterone is too low - he’s lost his fight.
What accomplisments might those be, John?
This dreck is why I say and mean that McCain is better than the obscene Obama fungus but he is not presidential material. We're screwed unnecessarily no matter who wins.
For those Freepers who criticize me because I think McCain has run an ineffective campaign, here you go.
I respectfully suggest to McCain that people need to earn my respect — and Obama has earned none.
You can be respectful, but you still have to point out the differences between yourself and the other candidate. If you don’t point out who Obama is, you give him a free pass to create any myth he wants.
FOR THE LOVE OF THE GOD I DON’T EVEN BELIEVE IN... HE IS NOT LOSING. A rational analysis of the polls has us at 296 EVs. It’s no reason to stop fighting, but let’s put this defeatism away. Dems aren’t gonna get 47/33 turnout on election day, ACORN or no ACORN.
