I call Barbara Streisand on that! Mc Cain was not telling his supporters not to point out these differences.
You need to realize that the media are taking the word “danger” and turning it into a racist remark. (Oh my G-d, don’t vote for that dangerous black man, muslim, arab). Remember the line Obama said about his own typical white Grandmother? That’s how these people think!
They deal in words, twisting of words... they want to paint supporters of the GOP as knuckle-dragging neanderthals who come out of the trailer park every four years to vote for racists like McCain and Palin! Audience members who jump onto this kind of rhetoric feed right into their mantra.
Clever people can get out the message without feeding into their stereotype.
Of course - here on FR - I love to see as much dirt as possible shoveled on the great ONE. In public, in a rally that is televised to the world - we need to look better than them.

“You need to realize that the media are taking the word “danger” and turning it into a racist remark.”

Allowing the media to take words like “dangerous” in the context of the next Supreme Court Justices that will be appointed, and turn them into racist remarks is a game of defense that cannot be won. That is falling right into their trap. He needs to define himself, not allow others to define him and manipulate him. That is a game that cannot be won and he as well as his campaign team should be smart enough to know that and have the leadership qualities about them to know that and be stronger than that.
