I have a Ruger SP 101 .357 magnum (all stainless) and LOVE it! It is inherently safe and very rugged.
I got one because that is what the Navy Seals on board my carrier carried.
It is my home defense weapon. I have frangible rounds for it so if I miss I don't shoot my neighbors.
Is it very heavy? The problem I have with the Beretta is that I can’t pull back the slide. Used to (in the ‘80’s, but not anymore.:(
Years back, a gun writer (I forget which) decided to test the home defense advice he'd been giving. To simulate a middle-of-the-night scenario he arranged to fire his .357 in a dark, enclosed space. The short story is that the .357 was good for one shot. Good for one shot because the first shot blinded him with muzzle flash and had him flinching for the painful sound.
Just a thought.
