Obama's Rising Poll Numbers Contributing to Matket Drop
I'm pretty sure that the drop in the market has various causes. Obama's lead in the polls is one of them.
Think about it. When Bernanke or the president or any major political figure in the government or in business makes a statement regarding a problem with the economy or a slowdown in the economy, the stock market takes a dive.
Obama in the lead is bad news. Obama is not at all an economist or a capitalist. Obama is by all indications, a socialist. Obama's record on always voting for higher taxes and higher spending is well-known. Obama is also well-known for advocating government solutions for just about everything that affects people.
Socialism, as represented by Obama, is not good for the stock market or for capitalism in general.
Obama is bad news for the economy and for the stock market. Obama being in the lead should be scaring anyone that believe in the free-market system. Oama represents the complete opposite of what the stock market needs and he of course is the complete opposite of what a hurting economy needs.
So, yes! OBAMA is hurting the stock market and he's one of the reasons that people are scared to jump into the market and one of the reasons that they're pulling their money out.
Cause and effect. Obama is one of the causes with real bad effects.

Are the poll numbers fraudulent as they have been in the past couple elections?

Did anyone see Goldman Sach’s Mr. Gutfreund on Squak this morning? He (in slow motion) blew a gasket when the NYSE guy suggested the markets are tanking becasue The O was ahead in the polls. He wheezed it was all Palin’s fault!
Gasp! Goldman is all over this global crisis and it’s the governor from Alaska’s fault? These people are sick.

I don’t know if they are fraudulent or not. It does seem like Obama is ahead for the time being.
My point is that the markets believe that Obama will be POTUS and clearly don’t like it.

“A few polls out today show Obamas rise is starting to fall.
Reuters/Zogbys latest poll has McCain/Palin down 1.9%.
Hotline/FD tracking poll has McCain/Palin down by just 1%.
Hopefully, the tide is turning.....lets pray its an eventual tsunami against Barry Hussein.”
Down by 1%, Bradley effect 5%... LANDSLIDE BY 4%

the last debate seems to be the key in all this. If I'm McCain I throw the kitchen sink at obama. Link him to Ayers. Link Ayers to ACorn. Link Acorn to Raines and Johnson to Freddie and fannie. As for a positive agenda, McCain can say the bailout hasn't worked to this point. Therefore instead of giving the rich another 700 or a trillion dollars that will sink into a black hole, we should suspend capital gains and business taxes for a year. On paper will come to the same dollar amount, but this way we'll save and create jobs. You want a new government program senator obama, here's the McCain ‘new deal’. Have folks build more refineries, oil rigs, wind and solar plants. Nuclear plants. By becoming energy self-sufficent we’’l create jobs, lower the cost of living, help ressurect an economy hurt by marxism. election over McCain wins easy Landslide by 10 points.

It’s a vicious cycle, feeding on itself.

Money people are too stark to nuance anything. They ‘vote’ with their wealth, and with a Marxist poised to take control with a Democrat Congress these practical people are voting to opt out of investing in a socialist state. I suppose they are praying the socialism passes, eventually, but they are bailing out to avoid the robbery Democrats have in mind. Of course, the media sycophancy for the almost black mangod will downplay this aspect and seek to dismiss it.

Too bad you won’t be around here long. I would love to share my thoughts with you, Comrade.
Ayers, Wright, etc...not conspiracies. And yes, it will be us here that have to take America back
I assume you are a female voter, because no male with testicles would be voting for the sissy Barack Obama. And you are obviously a skanky female liberal voter, because no classy ladies are supporting “That One”

what is a Matket? An obvious typographical error, one which most people will see and correct for in their minds, knowing exactly what it is, before proceeding to the article and subsequent discussion.

This is a fact. If Obama wins, there will be 30% Capital Gains taxes to pay for investment income, etc. And, with the latest news that the Democrats are trying to put a halt to 401 K exemptions for “higher” income earners (Over 70k per year) so that they can get their hands on that 85 Billion they cannot touch now, it’s no wonder that Wall Street is turning into ghost town.

Then the workers who work for those businesses, should also see the dangers of socialist pacifism but apparently they do not. In fact, more Dems will be elected to the House and Senate and taxes and spending will actually increase in a time of recession-depression.

Unfortunately many large businesses have long since left entrepreneurship behind Exactly. Entrepreneurs found companies. Managers inherit them. And managers hate risk and uncertainty. Massive government involvement increases predictability and decreases market forces. The manager mentality loves that.
This is why bankers like Paulson and a host of others before him move so effortlessly between Wall Street and Washington. At the upper levels the mentality is exactly the same.
