Let me be the latest conservative/libertarian/whatever to leap onto the Barack Obama bandwagon. Its a good thing my dear old mum and pup are no longer alive. Theyd cut off my allowance.
Or would they? But lets get that part out of the way. The only reason my vote would be of any interest to anyone is that my last name happens to be Buckleya name I inherited. So in the event anyone notices or cares, the headline will be: William F. Buckleys Son Says He Is Pro-Obama. I know, I know: It lacks the throw-weight of Ron Reagan Jr. to Address Democratic Convention, but itll have to do.
I amdrum roll, please, cue trumpetsmaking this announcement in the cyberpages of The Daily Beast (what joy to be writing for a publication so named!) rather than in the pages of National Review, where I write the back-page column. For a reason: My colleague, the superb and very dishy Kathleen Parker, recently wrote in National Review Online a column stating what John Cleese as Basil Fawlty would call the bleeding obvious: namely, that Sarah Palin is an embarrassment, and a dangerous one at that. Shes not exactly alone. New York Times columnist David Brooks, who began his career at NR, just called Governor Palin a cancer on the Republican Party.

I hope they kick completely him off the reservation - from what I’ve seen and read, he doesn’t represent conservatism or conservative values.
That’s why I did the “/s”
Sorry, I didn’t notice that.
He's a bit of fickle!
In a movie called the Stoned Age, the main guy refuses to allow “Don’t Fear the Reaper” to be played in his car. He says it’s a, shall we say, “wimpy” song. His friend argues and says, “It’s BOC. How can it be a [wimpy] song?” He answers back, “Let me tell you something. Every band puts out a [wimpy] song so they can find out who the faggots are.”
Sarah Palin: Finding out who the faggots are since September 2008
i believe you are mistaken about Ms. Lopez.
I had the exact same thought. Christopher Buckley is a good comic novelist, but after reading his books I got the sense that the author pretty much subscribed to the worldview of the liberal establishment.
I guess Chris Buckely’s “conservatism” is one of inertia, not conviction.
I suspect that we will see at lot more of this denouncing of conservatives by Chris in order to gain the approval of the liberal elites. Chris Buckley will become the next David Brock!
