am so sick of state documents that ask if I would like to register to vote.

“I completed out auto registration online the other day and it asked if I wanted to register to vote. I did some other stuff with state forms and the same thing. It is like non-stop in your face about voting. Of course I am registered to vote.”

I understand your frustration. It is becoming entirely too easy to register to vote and the parties do know who does and doesn’t vote, thereby opening the door to fraud. IMHO, though, I think it is time all the states purged their voter rolls and started over. It should begin in December and every person, excepting homebound invalids, who wants to register to vote should be required to show up at a government office, produce evidence of identification, address and citizenship and register to vote by their signature on the line. There should be no third-party registrations and the homebound should be allowed to have a government official come visit them after a doctor’s certification of their invalidity is produced. If we are not willing to do this over the next two years, I don’t think we would be responsible voters in the first place. Re-registration could be required every four or five years or something to clean out the voter lists of the deceased, moved-ons, those disqualified and mentally incompetent.

Well, the way it works here is that they send out new voter registration cards before each election with a do-not-forward order so if the registrant isn’t at the address any more it gets returned and purged.

Getting third party registration groups out would be a big help.

One big problem is that too many got upset about low turnouts and bought into the notion that whatever improves turnout is good. This is how they got their shenanigans codified into law. Voting may be a right, but it is also a privilege and not to be taken lightly.

We’re about to lose the country, my FRiends.
