I’d like to know as well. It was said that the bill that was passed (like too many others) was never read/reviewed. Easy to put things in.... like the mental health law that wouldn’t pass on it’s own.

Beckel was talking last night like ACORN was some little left wing teeny bopper group. I think that may have been true twenty years ago, but once they started getting funding in amounts with 9 figures, that was over. They’re something else now.

This past summer a $300 billion housing bailout was passed with a $500 million a year payment to ACORN.

Holly crap. How much worse can it get. No wonder the markets are tanking. ACORN is a totally criminal corrupt organization. They want to keep the RATS in power for the annually handout. If Obama is elected we are toast. Obama is a rotten communists and with the aid of the Senate and House they will take over America. Power and Greed.

i feel we are going the way of britain. but in stead of caving to muslims, we are caving to other vocal minorities. not just one group, though. a few.

it's too bad. america was cool back in the 80's.

Jeff, My congressman John Culberson was on local talk radio this morning in Houston and confirmed that ACORN did indeed get the $500 million PER YEAR FOREVER from the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac bailout deal.

He said Bush caved and agreed to it. He said the Dems’ attitude was that if he didn’t go along then they would just let Fannie/Freddie collapse.

That’s why the $20 billion/yr. ACORN deal in the Paulson bailout was so easy for the Dems to give up. ACORN already had the money.

John Boehner but he's hoping that we forget that he was all for the first 700 billion bailout, ACORN money and all. There were a lot of "republicans" who were for it before they were against it.

"Yes, but not the bailout you are thinking of.

This past summer a $300 billion housing bailout was passed with a $500 million a year payment to ACORN.

I can confirm that I read that somewhere as well, that it was in the bill passed during the summer, but I don't have a source for you.

Boehner Calls for Defunding of ACORN

Washington, Oct 9 - House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement following mounting allegations of voter registration fraud perpetrated by the left-wing group ACORN:

“The latest allegations of voter registration fraud by ACORN are further evidence that this group cannot be trusted with another dollar of the taxpayers’ money.

“Election cycle after election cycle, this organization has been at the forefront of breaking the law in order to promote their left-wing agenda. All the while, they have been the recipients of millions of dollars of federal funding through various federal programs and third-party groups. House Republicans took at stand recently to cut off funding to an ACORN slush fund created by their allies in the House Majority, but now more must be done.

“All federal funding to ACORN must be stopped. The ACORN slush fund must be disbanded. Sources of federal funding through the Department of Housing and Urban Development or any other agency must be stopped. Contracting for services between candidates for federal office and ACORN, as Senator Obama has done, must end. Now that the taxpayers own Fannie Mae, any funding from Fannie Mae’s nonprofit foundation to ACORN must stop.

“ACORN spent decades promoting the housing policies that brought America’s economy to the brink, and similarly over the years has committed fraud on our system of elections, making American voters question the fairness and accuracy of the exercise of their most fundamental right under the Constitution. Now it is time to cut off ACORN before it grows even more destructive.”

That's why the cretins that vote for these garbage bills should never be allowed to hold public office. Yes, this includes Bush and McCain.

They've (Congress) been robbing us and breaking Constitutional law for years and that is the direct cause of this mess. The time has come for us to force the realignment of the US gov to operate within Constitutional Law. Please excuse my cynicism but I think the powers at be want us broke and unarmed as to usher in a NEW WORLD ORDER. I have not forgotten G. H. Bush's statement!

Stanley Kurtz was on Bill Bennett’s radio show this morning and he has been researching these Ayers / Obama files. This is breaking news and apparently, Charles Krauthammer wrote an article about it that was published this morning. Obama was chair of the committee that funded ACORN and their radical education agenda. ACORN also pushed (an understatement) fannie may and freddie mac to make these bad loans and used extreme pressure tactics to do so.

Time for an Executive Order to cancel this outrage.
