Isn’t this the same thing as his interference in Iraq? What was the official State Department stance on the Kenyan election? If he went against U.S. policy, then Nobama could be in a bit of trouble.

No question, members of congress are prohibited from campaigning in foreign elections, same as his attempt to get Iraq to stall the agreement with the US was illegal. Having government officials supporting one side or the other of a foreign election could have devastating consequences for US policy.
