WASHINGTON (Reuters) - If the United States focused on curbing climate change as soon as a new president took office -- or sooner -- it could help pull the world from the financial brink, environmental policy experts told Reuters.
"Skyrocketing energy prices and the financial crisis have been a wake-up call that something's got to change," said Cathy Zoi, chief executive officer of the Alliance for Climate Protection, which is chaired by former Vice President Al Gore.

This story is crazy! It will take years to develop workable alternative energy and clean energy solutions. And... bilions of dollars! Where does the money come from if the economy is in shambles?

A wake-up call! Sh*t, its a financial meltdown. These things take years to recover from. It is doubtful that the USA will exist after 4 years of Obama. Who the hell will invest in clean and renewable technologies if the global economy craters?
Most people are in denial about this crisis. They don't get it that tomorrow will be much bleaker than today unless we stabilize the markets, cut taxes, cut spending and work like heck to re-build the economy.

“Skyrocketing energy prices and the financial crisis have been a wake-up call that something’s got to change,”
We pay whatever price is necessary for energy because we need it. What do we do in the meantime before “clean” energy arrives to produce and transport our goods? Starve, that’s what.
By the way, the financial crisis is not an environmental “wake-up call.” It has nothing to do with energy and everything to do with money. Like just about every boom/bust cycle, the current crisis is a monetary phenomenon.

These people from algore’s church of Idiocy truly need to be locked up in a mental asylum.

We need to spin these people off into their own socialist republic. They should have the freedom to be as crazy as they want to be without interference from us normal people.

And, of course, the Community Reinvestment Act and activist bullyboys contributed to this crisis by pressuring banks to make risky loans. With a repeal of this act, banks can go back to sound lending practices. Without repeal, we can look forward to the possibility of this crisis repeating itself.

The article lies.
environmental policy experts told Reuters.
Who says so?
Cathy Zoi, chief executive officer of the Alliance for Climate Protection, which is chaired by former Vice President Al Gore.
Since when do we refer to pork-barreling Washington lobbyists as "experts"?

And taxes to combat carbon emissions and restrictions on energy production will help the global economy: how?
