Colorado's Bible ban faces court challenge
WND ^ | October 08, 2008 | Bob Unruh

Tim Gill, the secretive Colorado software multi-millionaire and behind-the-scenes "gay" activist who has boasted of his strategy to buy up campaigns for pro-homosexual candidates soon may be learning he cannot buy the First Amendment.

Gill, whose strategic campaign donations in 2004 largely are credited with turning the GOP majority in the Colorado statehouse into a Democratic bastion and whose work in 2006 helped install Democrat Bill Ritter, a vigorously pro-abortion campaigner, in the governor's office, has been blamed by Christian organizations for the 2008 success of a new Colorado law that bans the Bible in the state.

But the Christian Family Alliance of Colorado and Liberty Counsel are teaming up on a soon-to-be-filed lawsuit expected to highlight the apparent First Amendment violations ofSB200, the state law that bans references to homosexuals that could be perceived as "discriminatory" and raises the issue of whether the law applies to the Bible's label of homosexuality as an "abomination."

...a new Colorado law that bans the Bible in the state

My first reaction is...This is unbelievable....but given the all the other things going on in this once great country I shouldn't be surprised. I want the full greatness back.

Poor, downtrodden, discriminated-against gays...if they’re so disenfranchised, why do they have so much money and influence? What a crock.

How and when will the people express their collective anger at this conspiracy with the devil?

new Colorado law that bans the Bible in the state.

At first, I thought this was from The Onion or Scrappleface.

[if they’re so disenfranchised, why do they have so much money and influence?]

My guess is that such people are used by democrat and some republican politicians of DC especially to consolidate their power over American cititzens, the politicians have totally disregarded the peoples wishes in matters such as illegal immigration, 1 trillion dollar bailout of wall street at taxpayers expense, homosexual indoctrination, global warming scam to raise taxes and give more power to politicians nationwide, all this is happening now and signifies the end of America’s Bill of Rights and Constitutional freedoms.

Colorado can’t ban the Bible no matter what the law states. Someday maybe but not with this SCOTUS. Of course once Barack starts appointing justices all bets are off.

I live in Colorado and while there are lots of ressonable, happy people here, there is also a 1% segment that would not blink if every Jew or Christian was rounded up and gassed tomorrow. Gill is one of them.

Funny you should mention that.

The early Nazi SA, the Sturmabteilungen or Brown Shirts, were led by an exclusive cabal of homosexual and bisexual men around Ernst Roehm. Roehm himself was a notoriously violent sadist and homosexual.

Under Roehm, the homofascists of the SA used the Hitler Youth as a seraglio, and they became so notorious that they posed an obstacle to Hitler's assumption of control of the Wehrmacht. Roehm demanded control of the army but the professional officer corps balked at the prospect, at which point Hitler called in Himmler's SS to perpetrate the "Night of the Long Knives", when the SA leadership cadre was slaughtered en masse.

At first I thought it was an over-reaction when they said they were banning the Bible in Colorado. But that argument is very straightforward. If free speech rights have been tossed and this statute that says (in essence) nothing offensive to homosexuality is allowed, then it does not take a genius to figure out that the Bible has been effectively banned in Colorado.

This is the Canada strategy. It has been effective for years now. If you teach about Sodom being destroyed, you can be prosecuted for hate speech.

Kind of ironic - in SB200 it is Section 8. Well, that law needs to be given a section 8 (reference Corporal Klinger's cross dressing in the MASH TV show) to the trash heap !

BTW, I live in Colorado and here is my violation of that law's section 8:

Homosexuality is an abomination of God. There is nothing good about it, it is wrong, it is repugnant and it is disgusting.

I live in Colorado and while there are lots of ressonable, happy people here,

Why has CO gone from a conservative state to a liberal state within the last decade or so? I know a lot of CA and northeastern people have moved there, but I thought that at least a certain percentage of those were conservatives moving to get away from liberal governments and laws.

It's very disturbing to me to see formerly conservative western states like CO, AZ, NV, MT, etc that were dependable Republican strongholds a few years ago now becoming liberal or tossup states due to immigration from liberal west coat and northeastern states. I met and talked extensively with a WY rancher when I was out there recently. He says the same thing is happening WY now as wealthy CA and northeastern liberals are buying up WY ranches and turning them into luxury estates. It's happening here in GA too, many CA and northeastern people move to the Atlanta metro area every day, and their political influence is showing up in the political climate here. At the rate that southern statess such as GA and NC are growing in population by way of immigration from liberal west coast and northeastern states it's only a matter of time until we're in the same political situation as CO is now.

Liberalism is a deadly plague spreading from state to state like the Black Death in the middle ages. I have little, make that no, hope for America's future as millions of young people are being brainwashed in government schools every day of the 10 month school year. Government schools are now almost exclusively run by and staffed with left wing administrators and teachers who are very effective agents for instilling liberalism into young skulls full of mush, and our colleges and universities are even worse. It's bitterly ironic to me that our taxes go in large part to pay for schools, colleges, teachers, and professors to destroy our American way of life by force feeding our kids liberal propaganda cleverly disguised as educational material.

I'm just glad that I'm 71 years old and have a good chance of not being here when the last vestige of what America once was when I was a young man has been totally destroyed.

But for some reason they love Muslims. Basically, Gill is a nutjob who hates America.

I thought that at least a certain percentage of those were conservatives moving to get away from liberal governments and laws.

Probably, but remember, liberals move to get away from liberalism as well; at least, to get away from the effects of liberalism. In their clueless arrogance, they fail to see the connection between their philosophy and the things they are running from. So, 1) their votes don't change, and 2) we are running out of places for them to mess up.

I'm just glad that I'm 71 years old and have a good chance of not being here when the last vestige of what America once was when I was a young man has been totally destroyed.

I imagine it hurt to write that. Best thing you could do in your situation is to turn the media off, b/c their function is no longer to report, but to demoralize the opposition (us) by creating the illusion of the world as they desire it. The moonbats don't have everything their own way, but when they run into problems you don't see that in the news. And you don't see the young people who are figuring out how the left is trying to snooker them. It doesn't take a majority of these to upset the applecart; the leftists cannot allow ANY dissent to be expressed, because the tighter their hold on the flow of information, the greater the impact of the individual dissenter who has truth on his side.

We don't see the end of this from where we stand, but I can tell you, the same sort of thing has happened before.

then it does not take a genius to figure out that the Bible has been effectively banned in Colorado.

If the liberal CO anti-Christians can get away with banning even a small part of the bible they can get away with banning any written or electronic material that they don't like. From there it's just a short step to a ban on saying things they don't want spoken, and when that happens the US will soon thereafter become very close to what the old USSR once was. I don't think we're quite to that point yet, but the trend is definitely in that direction and I believe the leftists will eventually prevail if Obama is elected.

That's not to say that he can do that by himself, but if he's elected that says to me that the majority of the US has decided that a "paradise" like the most socialistic of the European nanny states is the way they want the US to go. If that's how the majority wants it, that means our unique in all the world Constitution is not suitable for a socialist nation and it's guarantee of certain rights no longer applies to our new authoritarian government. Obama will appoint at least one or two of the next SCOTUS Justices, and 5 is all it takes to make the Constitution say whatever they want it to say. If he's elected, within another 20 years I don't think the US will be recognizable as the same nation it was just 20 years ago when the people elected Reagan twice by large margins. That coincides with biblical prophecy of the end times scenario, which doesn't mention any nation that resembles the current US but does predict a dictatorial one-world government.

Speaking of “pro-abortion”.......
While driving Wednesday afternoon a van in front of me had 2 stickers: “Choose Life” and an image of an infant with the inscription “Take my hand, not my life.” Above those 2 stickers was an Obama sticker.

I was fuming over the incongruity of that, when we came to a four-lane area and I was able to pull alongside as we came to a traffic light. (Thank God for power windows) I rolled down my window and motioned for the lady driver to roll hers down, and asked if I could pose an honest and sincere question. She nodded, yes.

I asked her: “How is it possible that 2 Pro-Life stickers and an Obama sticker could be on the same vehicle?” She blanched and made a few silent attempts at forming words, but nothing came out. As the light turned green and we began to move, I shouted: “Obama is pro-abortion! Totally committed!” And then she was gone. The rest is up to her conscience and the Holy Spirit.

She had a crumb-cruncher in the back and the license plate surround bore the message: St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. I would imagine she had some serious questions for other mothers in her circle of friends last evening.

I imagine it hurt to write that.

Not really, at least not as far as my personal experience goes. But I do feel a great deal of remorse for my generation leaving the nation to our kids and grandkids in the shape it's in. I have had a good life thanks first to Jesus Christ, and second to my family and the men and women who gave their lives to defend America and the freedom I have enjoyed. I, and virtually all Americans up until now are unique in all the history of the world for the liberties which we have enjoyed, and those liberties were paid for with the blood of patriots from Bunker Hill to Afghanistan.

What hurts most is knowing that the younger generations of propagandized Americans are sliding down a slippery slope to a collectivist-humanistic future society that is being sold to them as paradise on earth, but will in truth be just another version of the countless dictatorships that have ruled almost all the people of the world since time immemorial.
