I’ve met Alan Keyes. He and my in-laws are very close. From what I know about it, Alan Keyes entered that race as a candidate very late, he had very little financial support, he was too “refined” for many people, and he was looked upon as an outsider by voters in Illinois.

Yes he would not be accepted in Illinois, but he would not be accepted in America either. He tends to be a bit out there with his thinking, but good man just the same. I think he means well but just can’t get his message out.
