The ‘old’ game is to just go to those few states that you need to get a ‘win’, mathematically.
Focus all your money and resources there, so as to guarantee a win.
Governor Palin and Senator McCain are trying to visit the ‘key’ spots, but they aren’t doing it by ignoring those places the other side thinks is ‘unimportant’.
