House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, now reminds voters that deeds speak louder than words in politics because the two are so often out of sync.
Last year, Pelosi supported a bill to prohibit both direct and indirect payment to spouses by campaign committees and political action committees for consulting, fundraising or other services. Nor could companies that employed spouses be paid for their services. Since such compensation makes its way into family coffers, it's a sort of self-dealing, and most members of Congress sensibly shy away from it.
The House passed the bill by voice vote. It failed in a Senate committee, apparently giving Pelosi an excuse to continue her political action committee's payments to her husband's real estate and investment firm for rent, utilities and accounting fees. This year, the firm is billing eight times more than Pelosi's PAC paid under the previous treasurer.
Madam speaker sees no problem, despite her Claimed commitment last year to stopping the misuse of such funds. Pelosi's House colleagues are unlikely to call her on it. Unfortunately, so are her San Francisco voters.
FRom the San Diego Union-Tribune op-eds.

What is wrong with Pelosi’s Family plan? BHO does it too. BHO poured money to his cousin.
BHO also sent Federal Earmark money to his wife’s employer!!!!
The most excreble Speaker in my lifetime, a complete failure and a dolt, and can’t hold a candle to Governor Palin.
