Why does it seem all their venues only fit 5 - 6,000 people? They always sell out. Why not book a venue that fits at least 10,000?

“Why does it seem all their venues only fit 5-6,00 people? They always sell out...”
My guess is they’re more afraid of having an event in a big stadium NOT sell out than they are of lots of people being left out.
What makes a more positive news story: Lots of Empty Seats at Palin Rally, or Standing Room Only at Palin Rally?
Now, I suppose it’s debatable whether she could fill a bigger venue (I happen to think she could); I just think that’s probably what they’re thinking.
My family and I drove 90 miles last night to pick up tickets to the Wilmington, Ohio rally tomorrow. When we called the headquarters we were told they were going fast and were expected to be gone by noon today. We didn’t want to risk not getting tickets.
McCain-Palin came to Grand Rapids, Michigan a few weeks ago (Grand Rapids is generally very Conservative) and chose a place that held only a few thousand. Tens of thousands of people tried to get tickets but could not.
They should have targeted an arena that holds 30-40,000!
There's a risk there. Should you then only have 6,000 show up, the reporters will talk about all the empty seats (this only applies to Republican candidates).
