Roger Hedgecock Goes Daily with Radio America

Radio America is proud to announce the addition of The Roger Hedgecock Show to its daily talk lineup. The top-rated, long-time KOGO-AM, San Diego host will make his debut January 5, 2009 in the 6p-9p EST time slot, Monday-Friday.

Hedgecock’s program replaces The Michael Reagan Show, which has anchored that spot for the last five years.

Hedgecock’s engaging personality and straight talk have helped him dominate ratings on KSDO-AM and KOGO-AM in San Diego for the last twenty years. His political experiences, including stints as the Del Mar City Attorney and Mayor of San Diego, have provided listeners with first-hand accounts from inside government. He’s been named one of the Top 100 talkers in America by Talker’s Magazine — for 10 years in a row -- and he has a history of turning passive listeners into activists.

In 1994, when Republicans took control of the House, Roger and his audience insisted on making the Contract with America a reality and not just a platform. Over 200 listeners paid their own way to join Roger’s broadcast and lobby the new Congress in Washington, D.C. The event became known as “Hold Their Feet To The Fire”.

Roger has been coming back to Washington each year since. In 2008, over 40 other talk hosts from around the nation participated in Hold Their Feet to the Fire, putting pressure on Congress to enact True Immigration Reform.

After 9/11, Roger and his listeners started Homefront San Diego, an organization that provided thousands of military families with cars, furniture, food and other assistance.

Hedgecock is a columnist and an author of the recently published three book series: The 2008 Conservative Field Guide to: # 1. Immigration, # 2. The War and # 3. Healthcare. He is also a frequent guest on Hannity & Colmes, The O’Reilly Factor and other Fox News Channel Shows, on CNN’s Lou Dobb’s Show and on MSNBC. His proven track record also earned him the preferred guest host position on The Rush Limbaugh Show for over a decade.

Roger Hedgecock has received numerous local and nation broadcasting awards, including being nominated twice for the prestigious Marconi Award.

That is good news. I always like Roger’s show when he stands in for Rush. I think Roger would serve us well by running for a higher office, too.

Roger's a great guy too. I knew him slightly in San Diego. In 1990 or 91 I told him and Jimmy Valentine that they should hook up to a little thing called the INTERNET. (I'm not kidding). A few weeks later Valentine called me and asked me to come in to the studio and show them how to use it. How the world has changed in less than 20 years.

He also broadcasted his show from inside my art studio one year during an OCTOBERFEST street fair. He's a very nice guy and I think, next to Rush, the best radio talk show host out there.

Yeah, but do you have a normal t-shirt?

Remember when we tried to march in the “gay pride” parade.

Ah...those were the days! When a parade was the pressing issue of the day! Do you also remember protesting gas as it neared (gasped) 2.oo a gallon!

Great...I hope I can get him here in DC. I’ve been picking up his local show via podcast...

I think Roger would serve us well by running for a higher office, too.

He was elected mayor. It didn't work out for him.
