First, he made the decision when the campaign didn't have money. Second, if we look at the amount of money at hand starting Sept 1 onward, McCain/Palin together with RNC I believe has more money than 0bama/DNC combined. McCain/Palin has more time to campaign, while 0bama & Co. still has to raise money.
