The bad thing is that McCain has to spend money and time in NC and he has less money.

Exactly. McCain shouldn't have to work hard for North Carolina.

I read yesterday that North Carolina has had 600,000 new voters registered this year.

Six hundred thousand new voters in a state that Bill Clinton once lost by only 20,000 votes.

About half of those new voters have registered Democrat, about a third Independent, leaving only about 20% for the Republicans and all the other parties (Libertarians, Green, etc.)

Here's the article at Politico(^) about the situation. The information about new voters is on the second page.

I would love to know what the GOP "get out the vote/register voters" plan has been this cycle.

That means NC is going to be a battleground in coming years. The GOP needs a long term strategy. We need to more aggressively court youth and hispanics.

In the Triad the Dems have been better organized and more visible. Hate to say it but thats how it appears at least. Can’t speak for anywhere else. My state will become harder to hold. The triangle area is getting flooded with northern transplants who tend to vote lib and the hispanic population is exploding.
