Like Reagan, I don’t believe in a fate you can’t avoid no matter what you do. To win that race Gilmore needs to get very aggressive. He should pounce on his NRA-bashing, the bailout, taxes. Over and over.

Warner is a likely POTUS candidate for 2012. We shouldn’t let him walk in unopposed.

I don't think you understand. Gilmore has no money. No money and no ads mean you don't get your message out. Gilmore can't raise money since he is 20 to 30 points behind in the polls and no one gives money that is not in a competitive race.

Gilmore is not popular. His ratings went down after he left office when Mark Warner criticized him about causing a budget "crisis" that Mark had to deal with. It was echoed by the media.

I agree with you about not letting Warner in unopposed since I too think he will run for the presidency.

But with a democrat media and a truly horrific state Republican leadership, Warner will sweep to victory in a walk.
