Personifying all examples, using visual and auditory ques to reinforce points, changing up cognitive responses (see, hear, etc) to reach a lot of communication styles, speaking in rhythms, repeating the same items over and over with different emphases, saying odd things that break train of thought... etc.. They are all ways to manipulate the listener.
