Gosh, I just got here, missed the debate and jumped right straight to the end. I guess McCain bombed by the way some posts read here. Oh God I hope not!

I guess McCain bombed by the way some posts read here. Oh God I hope not! Nope. In radio-land, anyway, I thought he did quite well -- much better than Obama on most responses. Obama spent a lot of time in me-too land, and even so didn't do as well.
Where McCain really shone was on the foreign policy questions. He absolutely smacked Obama down several times. His best answer was to the question of whether or not Russia was returning to 'Evil Empire' status. Obama fluffed around for a long time. McCain quite properly took a well-reasoned middle ground, and sounded very good doing it. I think that question alone -- which occurred near the very end -- was enough to lay bare the differences between them, very much in McCain's favor.
I think the MSM will have no choice but to call this one for McCain.

Mac was fine, Rose...he was shaky in the beginning and we were a tad scared. Barry babbled and acted like a spoiled brat demanding more time. His answers were lies and he did the usual—Pok-i-stahn, Toll-i-bahn. Tom B. stunk as a moderator. The questions and audience members were bor-ing! Mac's finest moments came at the end when a Naval officer shook Mac's hand after asking his question. And with his closing statement about America first—it gave you chills. Keep praying, Rosie—keep praying!

I don’t think McCain so much bombed and got walked over by Obama and a moderator who refused to reign him in....

McCain did NOT say another 300 bil for the housing crisis. He was just explaining the bill that hardly anyone liked. I arrived late myself but did see posts about his housing answer. McCain was misconstrued. (I was against the bill but we're stuck w/it. McCain isn't proposing more bailouts for bad mortgages.
