Do you understand the difference between a tax exemption and a tax credit? The former is deducted from your taxable income. If it sends your taxable income past zero, you don't get a check for the difference.

This single working Mom could really use that $7,000 tax deduction and I like the fact that I could spend money for my medical care the way I want to. Go Johnnie!

Heck they do THAT on the entitlements programs, too. They need to go through and clean house and make sure that those on the rolls really belong there.
