Gov. Rod Blagojevich tried to deflect questions Tuesday about talks between convicted fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko and federal authorities probing corruption allegations involving his administration.

*snip*

... Blagojevich said Rezko's decision to seek a sentencing delay "speaks for itself."

*snip*

And I would point out he sent a letter, Tony Rezko sent a letter to a federal judge where he expressly said that neither Sen. Obama nor I did anything wrong and now we've got to respect the process as we've been consistently doing and just let it all unfold…"

His only disparate hope is to stall until obama is the winner of the presidency. His case will mysterious go away.

Nope. This one will last and be a huge thorn in Barry’s side. Even if he wins it will dog him and give the critics something to scream about.

My oh my. I would LOVE to see Blago go down. He is hated in Illinois, even by the Democrats. He has been a terrible governor. The only reason he was elected was the implosion of the IL-GOP and the sheer inability to put up a halfway competent candidate.

First Rezko, then Blago, then Obama??!?!?

I'm way too optimistic—I'm even hoping for Daley (though if I had to choose, I'd pick Obambam to go down first before Daley).

I wonder if Blago is stalling and whether the “federal authorities” will still have jobs after January. Hard to be optimistic about corruption investigations.
