October 07, 2008 - Yesterday, as voter registration deadlines passed in most states, Project Vote, the nations leading nonpartisan voter participation organization, and the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), the countrys largest community organization, announced the completion of a joint nonpartisan voter registration drive, which has succeeded in helping over 1.3 million Americans register to vote.
ACORN will do to our electoral system what they’ve already
done to our housing market and lending institutions.
Democrats Vote Drive in Louisiana Stirs Concern
June 15, 2008
A Democratic voter registration drive in largely black neighborhoods of Louisiana has swamped the states voter registrar offices, forcing them to hire new staff members and work 12-hour days to process thousands of applications.
Election officials have expressed concern that large numbers of people who believe they are registered will show up at the polls in November, only to find that they cannot vote because their application had been improperly submitted.
Project Vote and Acorn, a left-wing national organizing group, have teamed up to conduct large voter drives across the country, with the goal of registering 1.2 million people by Labor Day. They have already submitted 600,000 applications, said Michael Slater, the deputy director of Project Vote. Acorn is among several groups registering voters in Louisiana.

Seems to me that, at this point, with the evidence of repeated violations and consistent techniques of fraud, RICO could be invoked against ACORN.
Of course, since they are not peaceful pro-life protesters, RICO doesn’t apply to them. /sarc
*grin*
I did not see this one yesterday. IMHO, this can not be posted enough ;)
As you were saying...
Pleeeeaasssse! Obama was only their laywer.... -sarc
RAID **ALL** ACORN OFFICES!!
flip the small fry and go after the management with RICO.
bttt
It is RICO on some levels but proving it is the hard part. You have to prove clear leadership that is directing those below them to knowingly break the law. It’s a hard case to make because the fraud happens at the grassroots level and even though they know it they can say we did not teach or ask anyone to do that.
I explained the problem of ACORN to my wife like this -
In many instances the workers are the same young people out “registering” voters that show up on your doorstep to sell you a magazine. They push and push because they are required to get x number signed up each day. It’s very hard to make the number for magazines but even harder to find non-registered citizens. At some point the worker learns that it is easier to make up a name and turn it in.
The team leaders understand this and take advantage of it. They say all the right things in “training” but wink at the problem when they flood the local registration office with the applications. Many of the fraudulent ones make it through and someone can use those to vote more than once.
Is it so hard to register to vote that people have to come to you? Why not pass a law requiring a person to register in person with photo identification where they can look you up on the computer right then and there?
Sad. I sincerely wish the founding fathers had made owning something a requirement for voting. We have taxpayer funded public transportation in most cities with large homeless populations yet they will gather them up and put them on volunteer vans and drive them to the voting booth. How do they get them on the van?
