Those guys werent against communism- they were assisting Persian patriots who were against islamic extremist lunatics like Khomeini. How unpatriotic.
Think where the workld might be today if the plan had succeeded or better- been OPENLY backed by the uS givernment. The iRanian govt might be rule by real moderates. Millions of Iraqis and Iranians wouldnt have died in endless war aginst each other. Thousands of Americans would still be alive. TRILLIONS of dollars spent in anti-terror and anti proliferations... could have been better used....etc
