Our teachers in the 60’s and 70’s always involved the kids in school. We had mock campaigns, and everyone voted, during the presidential election.

I remember one teacher even took us on a field trip to both the Democratic and the Republican headquarters, in our county. She was decidedly a Democrat, but only encouraged me, when I grabbed up the NIXON bumper stickers!

No wonder our schools are in the toilet. Teachers have traded social indoctrination for education.

Can I say this teacher is stupid. What is wrong with people who bring one sided politics into the classroom. In 6th grade we discussed the Carter-Reagan campaign. My Dad was for Reagan for sure and Mom I believe was so I was too...lol. In school one day, we were making paper signs for whatever candidate we wanted. Unfortunately, a pretty girl was making a Carter sign so of course (I hid my Reagan sign in my desk) I decided to impress her and make one too...well I did not understand or know anything about politics (Republican Democrat Liberal Conservative were very foreign to me) at all during that time, but I sure wanted that girl to like me...lol. The dumb things we do!!!
