Some call it indoctrination and others say it encourages political involvement.
On a video posted on the internet, middle school students say Barack Obama has inspired them to succeed.
Conservative morning Chris Stigall saw the video on the Drudge Report.
"This is an indoctrination. It's not a debate. It's not discussing relevant issues. It's not tit-for-tat," Stigall, with 710 KCMO Radio, said.
Stigall said his disapproval isn't because of Obama, but rather because where it took place.
"No public school could or should get away with such a thing," Stigall said.
Stigall said on Monday morning that the school's director called his show and acknowledged that the video was made on school grounds after class at a teacher sanctioned event.
At the Broadway Cafe, a midtowner said he wouldn't mind the activity if it were organized by students.
"If it's a teacher pulling them along, I think it's not as sensible," voter Tony Haynes said. "The teacher's role is not to lead them in a particular direction, but give them a place to lead themselves."
A Republican who supports Obama said while he didn't see the video, he thinks it's interesting these kids want to be involved.
"I went through the public school and when I was there no one cared about either candidate," voter Christopher Slocum said.
But another voter said teachers should interest them in the issues on both sides.
"As a school based program, I don't think that's fair. I think all issues need to be presented," voter Fern Mesa said.
The school's director didn't return our calls. According to FOX News, the school suspended the teacher in charge of the after school activity for insubordination after he posted the video online.

Our teachers in the 60’s and 70’s always involved the kids in school. We had mock campaigns, and everyone voted, during the presidential election.
I remember one teacher even took us on a field trip to both the Democratic and the Republican headquarters, in our county. She was decidedly a Democrat, but only encouraged me, when I grabbed up the NIXON bumper stickers!
No wonder our schools are in the toilet. Teachers have traded social indoctrination for education.
Yeah. Better run down to the school that you support, and see what is going on there! What we don’t know, could take away our freedom and impose a marxist regime on us.
And that one guy is most likely a Republican, the same way I'm a Democrat. Changing my registration allowed me to vote in a contested rather than in an uncontested primary, and maybe sow a bit of dissension in the nemy ranks.
We would be out of public school teachers if they went after all of them who are doing the indoctrination....

Can I say this teacher is stupid. What is wrong with people who bring one sided politics into the classroom. In 6th grade we discussed the Carter-Reagan campaign. My Dad was for Reagan for sure and Mom I believe was so I was too...lol. In school one day, we were making paper signs for whatever candidate we wanted. Unfortunately, a pretty girl was making a Carter sign so of course (I hid my Reagan sign in my desk) I decided to impress her and make one too...well I did not understand or know anything about politics (Republican Democrat Liberal Conservative were very foreign to me) at all during that time, but I sure wanted that girl to like me...lol. The dumb things we do!!!

Because of Obama, I ate two buckets of KFC extra-crispy, four big macs, a large cheese-lovers pizza and pried my a$$ into a pair of camo pants, chanting like a brainwashed cultist to creep America out.
Do you know what the kids were saying? Is the script anywhere online? We need to send this to everyone we know. Especially holocaust survivor groups, and Germans who lived thru the Nazi regime. They will recognise this stuff instantly! Or perhaps our friends who have come here from Cuba, could also speak out, on how scary this is!
