They are hard to reason with. Fortunately, this extremely weird election cycle has brought my lib relatives to their senses, and I thought I’d never see the day!
I'm seeing the same thing - glimmers of daylight - at long last. I spoke with a retired teacher this afternoon who I was convinced was a die-hard lib. It turns out she was raised Republican, has gone back and forth over the years, and is now on the fence. I gently nudged her and talked to her a bit about what economics and the Fannie/Freddie/Dodd/Obama/Frank connection. I'll spend time with her on the weekend on a women's retreat. Perhaps I can nudge her gently a little further.
