Resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other guy to die.
The obit says he died because of the strain "of living in this unjust country.
An avid atheist, he studied the bible and religion with more fervor than most Christians. He had strong political opinions and followed Amy Goodmans radio broadcast Democracy Now. Alas the stolen election of 2000 and living with right-winged Americans finally brought him to his early demise. Stress from living in this unjust country brought about several heart attacks rendering him disabled.
But I expect its more what Will Smith said to his son in Just the Two of Us,
hate in your heart will consume you, too.

I relate to this guy. I am full of resentment toward liberals, especially in my family.
I think if Obama won it might cause me to not communicate with those people.

Anybody have advice on not letting political/cultural resentment eat away at you.

Is there anything that cannot be blamed on the right wing?

Does anybody else feel that they would not handle an Obama vicory in a healthy way?
To: prolifefirst
Not to worry. A McCain Presidency won't be much better than an Obama Presidency, with the possible exception of SCOTUS appointments, and even those would have to get through a Democratic Senate.
With an Obamination Presidency, we would have a chance to repeat 1994 in 2010.
This all depends on Republicans "finding religion" and returning to their fiscal conservative roots, led by another Gingrich (but NOT GINGRICH.)

You have to unplug. For many of us, this is an interest, a hobby, a pastime and critical life information all at once. My brother is a liberal who cannot unplug. He seems to be an unhappy man, and everyone who knows him knows he can’t give it a rest.
I’d say focus on your business, your job, your family. Turn on some music, forget the news for awhile.
Go vote, do your part, and deal with what comes our way.

We were told by the (Republican)Mayor of Santa Maria California (the "All American City") to take our McCain signs in at night to keep them from being stolen.
He has also admitted to 15,000 illegal aliens in our city of 80,000 regular folks.

My liberal family members have no idea how scandalized I am to my core at their positions.

"not communicate with those people" Your instincts are leading you right. Imagine if patriots in this country withheld social and familial support from our nation's citizen enemies. The left is insecure and weak, they'd wither like a worm on the sidewalk. Do it.

This article is over three years old. Kind of stale, don’t you think?

Sounds like he worried himself to death. I’d like to hear what, exactly, he considered to be “unjust”. I think it’s unjust for people to be given employment because they belong to a particular group.

The look of shame on W’s face in that photo of him signing our future away got me depressed all w/e.
My wife actually thinks we have a better chance of achieving President Palin if nobama wins.

Well, at least this guy will spend eternity with all of the liberals (murderers, rapists, perverts, and thieves) in their Heaven, which would be Hell to the rest of us.

I'm taking money out of savings and stocking up on Pepto Bismal..... if not I'm going to be ill, all day, every day.
Perhaps I will start my own black market distribution of tums, pepto, etc..... I won't be able to pay the taxes on a legit business, so I'll take my chances going black market.
Oh wait, will we have to change it to White market so we aren't hounded by the Obama Hitler youth?

It's very current to me.

I hope you are correct about your own situation.
My experience with liberals is that if you don't express total
giddy endorsement of their positions, start agitating for their
causes and basically behave as a fervent convert to their
secular/atheistic religion...
you will always be "suspect".

Yeah and Obama is going to make a great CIC and his foreign policy will be masterful
And him having control of the IRS will make Clinton's auditing of conservative organizations look like child's play
And nothing like having the power of the Patriot act at your command
