I get queasy with the lovefest going on for Palin because it's a bit indulgent--people seem to really get off on the Palin love, but it's all so celebrity-oriented (people were urging her to go on Saturday Night Live, fer pete's sake). We know all the celeb stuff about her--she has that in spades, we need to see her as hard-hitting and ready to lead. She isn't, IMHO, though she's far more ready than Obama.
I know it's late in the game for this, but I think I'm still astonished Obama has gone ANYWHERE. He's so clearly unfit for the job. I may be the only person who saw Al Gore's support at the convention as a watershed of lunacy--sure, Gore is a phony, but I always thought in his warped mind he thought he was doing good for the country. How anyone with an IQ higher than a green bean can claim this guy is ready to lead is beyond me.
I cringe when I see more Palin "soft" news around here, and was gratified to see she's getting dissed in the press for having the gall to say something substantive about Obama. I think the press are rushing in to douse a fire with her comments about Obama and terrorists, and that actually gives me hope--they'll be so hysterical with denials that people will be curious.
Well IMO a part of the reason for the lovefest is because after 18 months of Obama Fellatio in the Media, it is comforting to have someone to rally around.

There is a deep seated disatisfaction with the Bush Yrs out in Real America, never underestimate it, it is powerful and drives people to support Obamao, and the Bailout was incredibly harmful for McCain, “champion of busting pork spending now votes 850 billion to bailout Wall Street”
Ouch..no one holds Obama accountable “we” hold our guys accountable..

And that, whether Gov Palin can transform the narrative, is the 64 Billion dollar question, the huge crowds bring media coverage, now what she says MUST make an impact, she MUST capture both headlines and news cycles to pull this tickets chestnuts out of the fire.
Basically she must attack at least as effective as Hillary did, and she must force Obama to respond to those attacks.
And in a ray of solid hope Darkwolf, if there is to be a poll bounce from the VP Debate, it should start hitting soon...
We have some ducks on the pond still.
