Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Monday will launch a multimedia campaign to draw attention to the involvement of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the “Keating Five” savings-and-loan scandal of 1989-91, which blemished McCain’s public image and set him on his course as a self-styled reformer.
Pushing back against what it calls “guilt-by-association” tactics by McCain, the Obama campaign is e-mailing millions of supporters a link to a website, KeatingEconomics.com, that will have a 13-minute documentary on the scandal beginning at noon Eastern time on Monday. The overnight e-mails urge recipients to pass the link on to friends.
The Obama campaign, including its surrogates appearing on radio and television, will argue that the deregulatory fervor that caused massive, cascading savings-and-loan collapses in the last ‘80s was pursued by McCain throughout his career, and helped cause the current credit crisis.

Multiply that by a Hundred Dem-run cities, many MUCH larger, like Detroit, and you can see where this mess is coming from.
Then multiply that by foriegn banks selling derivitives of this fraudulent debt at 50-1, or 60-1, and you can see why the banks have collapsed as these schemes come apart.
The actual FAMILIES being reposessed hasn’t changed much. What changed was that the tide of these pyramid-style schemes collapsing has turned into a complete flood.

McCain was cleared of any wrongdoing .. which Obama already knows .. so for him to use something which is already settled is just plain stupid.

The indisputable facts are:
1) Bill Ayers was the founding member and guiding spirit of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a program designed to funnel money to Bill Ayers’ friends in order to radicalize the City of Chicago schools;
2) Barack Obama was chosen to be the Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Obama served as the Chair beginning with its inception in 1995 and running until 2001; Obama remained on the board until 2002;
3) As Chairman, Obama worked closely with Ayers in dispersing over $100 million to education groups with radical ties and agendas; and
4) When Obama ran for the Illinois Senate for the first time in 1997, his first political fundraiser was held in the home of William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.
There is, of course, much more to these connections. However, these four basic points are facts that can not be explained away or rationalized.
They show that Obama and Ayers had a close working relationship through the years the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was operational.
In other words, Obama had a close working relationship with a terrorist, and he worked to help promote that terrorists radical educational agenda.
Bill Ayers was much more than just some guy who lived in Obama’s neighborhood. They were close associates working towards the same goal, which was to radicalize the Chicago public schools.

His campaign is either young or naive if they think people don’t remember this.
Keating was a huge scandal and overplayed on the networks back when people actually sat around the TV for the news every night. McCain was very publicly exonerated.
This will backfire for Obama with the Boomers. They all remember it and will see this as a phony attack by a guy they are on the fence about.
