As a Foreigner who is also a Friend of America I hope you do not mind if I make the following observation:

Most foreigners do not say “thankyou” for American aid. In fact, many of the recipients of American aid end up being ungrateful to the point of hating America. Some of them resort to terrorist activity.

Yes this is counter-intuitive and yes it is jolly ungrateful and unworthy. It is the loutish behavior of ingrates.

With that in mind, exactly WHY THE DEVIL do you Yanks persist in shipping large quantities of your Treasure overseas in the form of Foreign Aid? Surely it’s not just because Bono and Geldoff say it’s something you should do...?

It makes no bloody sense!

"no bloody sense"

You're preaching to the choir here amigo. Conservatives know what mere handouts accomplish with the experience of LBJ's "Great Society" scam of the sixties. Thanks to Johnson millions of low-income Americans went on welfare. Not only did the poor get poorer, the crime rate skyrocketed. Many of these families remained locked in a cycle of poverty and crime. But good intentions are what counts, right?

Liberals just can't help themselves. They see poor people around the world and believe it's caused by either indifference or, most astonishing of all, the capitalist free-market system. And with Obama's probable election, further billions (trillions?) of tax-payer dollars will be thrown down various third-world kleptocracies around the globe. The road to hell etcera.
