Whether McCain wins or not, Sarah will be the presumptive heir apparent of the Republican party. She won’t disappear, never fear. She’s a natural, connecting to voters like no one since RR, and she’ll get even better (if that’s possible), as she learns the ropes. (The party won’t let her go back to Alaska for good.)

I disagree wholeheartedly. If McCain's ship goes down, Pailin's in excellent position to return as AK Gov (win re-election in a landslide) and prepare for a run as Pres in 2012. This is McCains last run - and we have an excellent oppty to attack in 4 yrs. NO IFS BUTS ABOUT IT!
