“The system we have is based on representatives. The people are generally powerless.”

I would respectfully argue that our representatives are, unfortunately, precisely representative. The people chose to elect Nancy Pelosi, the impeached judge Alcyee Hastings, the manslaughterer Kennedy, the corrupt Dodd and Byrd, the pedophile Franks. And they stand ready now to elect the Chosen One, His Oiliness, the Obamassiah.

It’s not that our representatives have betrayed us, it is that half of our population betrays us each time they vote.

Thank you for your very thought-provoking article-- especially the link to the "Urban Archipelago" article. I had heard us red-State folks referred to as, "Flyover Country", but I had never seen the urbanites' derision of us so clearly exposed...

Fortunately for America, that half of the population has conveniently sequestered itself in a small number of urban pustules.

Fortunately, I recognized the problem and took action: Immediately after 9-11-01, I moved myself and mine out of the metropolitan Boston area and into rural East Texas.

My commuter car was traded in on a new tractor so that I could raise my own food. Several pieces of the "urban hardware" I used to pack when I ventured into Boston were traded for pieces with less concealability, but significantly greater reach and firepower. And my reloading presses were appropriately converted and put into mass production.

FWIW, I'm certainly no "survivalist hermit": we still attend a large (conservative) church, send our grandchildren to (conservative) public schools, and enjoy almost all of the "civilized" lifestyle we had -- even in the "Hub of the Universe" (so-called..)

IMHO, any conservative who chooses to remain in one of our urban hellholes has only himself and his poor choices to blame.

The time of declaration is probably not yet. OTOH, it is certainly not too soon to consider removing one's family into communities/countryside that are not filled with (and controlled by) liberal scum.

Again, thank you for your post. It will be shared...
