Fireproof is doing very well, esp. considering it's in a limited amount of theaters.

I saw AC last night and although it was entertaining, Kevin Farley is a pretty bad actor. At least in this role. I kept seeing Chris Farley. Im curious to see if Kevin ever lands another role after this.

The George Washington scene was amazing in my opinion though liberals will go in a tizzy about the graphical scene.

I had a foreign family next to me and they were cracking up. I think they were middle eastern but couldnt figure out where. They applauded at the end.

The Maher movie is going to be very profitable considering how much it was too make. My guess is it couldnt have cost much more than a couple million.

Amrican Carol has alot of big name actors, so that total is not very good for it. My guess is that it wont make back its production costs. Of course there always cable tv and DVD though.

We went to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua last night. Cute and fun movie and will definitely see American Carol this week.

My sis, BIL, step-dad and I all want to see it (I’ve only been to a few movies in the past several years, and, except for Hairspray, they’ve all been kids movies w my nephew). However, we’re booked this weekend, family is out of town next weekend, so we won’t be going for 2 weeks :-(
I may end up going by myself and then again w them as I’m anxious to see it.

I thought liberals were “open-minded, diverse and tolerant...” Surely, those characteristics will override any opposing thoughts to the Zucker film.

Actually 500 screens time 3 days = 1,500 screen days. Just as 1,500 screens times 1 day = 1,500 screen days. You have to read these things quite carefully. The lefty movie opened on the 1st of October.

American Carol is not screening anywhere near my home in an L.A. suburb. Yes, this is ultra lib territory — but you’d think with as many theaters around as there are, they could’ve shown it in ONE. I’ll drive to the closest anyway — but not today.

Driving thru major traffic and expected rainstorm today to see Sarah Palin in person at a rally near Torrance. CA is not in play, of course, but I believe she is here to raise money —CA, despite being outvoted by the left, is still good for major contributions! The up-side is that we don’t have Obama criss-crossing the state non-stop looking for votes, as in the midwest. He’s got the votes locked up here; actually it isn’t him per se, ANY Dem would have the votes locked up.

I went to the 7:30 pm showing last night (Friday). It was a good size crowd. About 75 or 80 per cent of the average sized theater was full. The crowd was appreciative of the whole flick. The most uproarious laughter came when the ACLU zombie-lawyers were being blasted with shotguns and rifles. Also, the bit about the “fanatical Christian terrorists” drew a big response. Bottom line — I liked the movie.

Here is something that both ticked me off and amused me at the same time. Prior to the show, there were only 2 trailers of coming features shown. They were “W” and “Frost/Nixon” — two rabidly anti-conservative hit pieces posing as true-life dramas and not satire or parody. Someone had obviously made a conscious decision to cram such bile down the throats of the audience who they knew would be mainly conservatives. The only response from the crowd was mild laughter at the obvious ploy.

I took my wife and son to the 9:40 PM show. It was a scream. Irreverent skewering of the left at all levels.

I got this off Showbizdata:

5. APPALOOSA 1,045 screens / $1,600,000

7. FIREPROOF 852 screens / $1,265,000

9. AN AMERICAN CAROL 1,639 screens / $1,215,000

10. RELIGULOUS 502 screens / $1,110,000

I included Appaloosa because I’ve seen some Freepers recommending it.

I remember when I went to see Ben Stein’s “Expelled” that I was in the most dilapidated theater in the multiplex, and the previews were some of the most violent and perverted fare Hollywood could ever process through its creative sewer.

I guess the theater owner figured that an audience of Christian and religious Jewish families would enjoy seeing previews for the worst Hollywood has to offer.

We conservatives are targets. But there are more of us than there are of them.

I haven't seen maher's anti-Christain hit piece, nor do I intend to, but I am curious if he dares to confront any of the practitioners of the 'religion of peace' in the condescending manner in which he did with the Christians.

Christians are an easy target for cowards like maher. It's very unlikely that the Amish, or the Mormons will slit your throat, issue a fatwah, or strap a bomb to themselves to avenge a verbal slight against their beliefs. This is exactly why spineless cowards like maher would never even consider confronting a jihadi to speak ill of their cult or of their beloved child molester, mohammed.
