Frank claims differently, according to a letter to the editor published in the Sept. 17, 2008 Wall Street Journal. Frank noted that in 2005 he supported regulating compensation for Fannie and Freddie executives.

2005? Isn’t that the same year Franklin Raines was removed as CEO after having been found to have fudged profits upwards of 9 BILLION dollars, and the resulting fraudulent bonuses in the millions?

How in hell did EVERYBODY miss that one,and why is Raines walking the streets as a free man?

Oh,I forgot,the Clinton defense.....every does it,whats the problem.

It appears that everyone DOES!

Make that 11 Billion dollars, Obstruction by Gorelick and her employees, and 'Raines walking the streets as a free man' on Obama's Campaign dole. oh, and I'm fairly certain he's a major supporter of the "It's Bush' fault" campaign! finally, it's amazing that the anacronym 'ACORN' is strangely absent as well, in this article and thread, isn't it!

Back to the 2005 issue, the OFHEO, Fannies' Regulator of record (recently replaced by a new Regulator), issued it's report on Fannie Mae in May 2006. At the time, McCain was leading the charge to 'clean up the mess' that Fannie had created. Unfortunately for the country, OFHEO was not as powerful as the 'culture of corruption' that pre-existed this campaign to 'straighten things out'. But the report is 'out there' for ALL to see. Also unfortunately, that entire 348 page 'expose' of Fannie Mae corruption did not use the term 'Barney Frank' even once! so Bawnie has many friends protecting his rear! or, It may be that ALL references to congress critters were redacted from the final version of the report by lobbyists.(IMHO)
