Tied Governor's race: Gregoire and Rossi
rasmussenreports ^ | Friday, October 03, 2008 | RasmussenReport

The race for Washington’s next Governor is now a tie. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds incumbent Christine Gregoire and challenger Dino Rossi each attracting 48% of the vote.

Gregoire is viewed favorably by 51% and unfavorably by 47%. Her job performance is rated 43% good or excellent from voters, while 35% say she is doing a poor job.

Former State Senator Rossi’s ratings are 50% favorable, 48% unfavorable. This year’s race has been anything but steady. Last month, Rossi pulled ahead of the governor, 52% to 46%, after trailing behind by four percentage points in August. Gregoire managed to hold solid leads in May, June, and July, after a virtually tied race through March and February.

This year’s election is reminiscent of the exciting match up between the two candidates in 2004 that ended with a controversial win for Gregoire that had to be decided by the state’s courts.

Did they poll under the King County Board of Election desks? That seems to be where the winning ballots for Gregoire came from last election.

I have family in Olympia area. Very democratic.
I’ve been working on them for 4 years.
All they do is complain about how expensive everything is. But they want government to take care of them. We get into fights over politics all the time. Geesh

Obviously, Washingtonians don’t learn much.

And that is a slam on the WET side of the state. Rossi will likely carry everything east of the mountains and then some, but there’s some kind of intellect-destroying drug or poison in the water on the west side of the state, and they keep on voting stupid. They whine and moan about the state of things, but never once do those moronic libs on the west side of Oregon OR Washington ever learn to stop voting for idiotic liberals.

I donated to Rossi the last time. I thought he could have ran a better campaign.
He didn’t fight enough.

I hope he makes it this time.

The cheaters will cheat again for sure, so we’ll see.

that intellect destroying drug comes out of seattle, so far it has affected the king-pierce-thurston-kitsap-snohomish county areas but is slowly creeping down the I-5 corridor.

all gov gregoire has to do is win those 5 counties and she will win the election...maybe....after the ?th recount where they “find” uncounted ballots...behind lockers, in the trunk of cars, left at a polling place, you know, use your imagination of where you could find uncounted ballots. (yes, if rossi wins again, this will happen again.)

At least there is someone I can enjoy voting for this election.

The only real question is whether he’ll be allowed to be sworn in this time....

I heard King County Board bought many extra desks this year!

It wouldn’t be a tie if you factored out the union votes and of course super liberal King County. I hope she looses by a landslide. That way they can’t “find” enough votes.

Once again: they have the Republican GOVERNOR tied, but McCain down 10 in the same poll. What the hell is going on with Rasmussen? These absolutely don’t make sense.
