WASHINGTON (AFP) US President George W. Bush on Friday signed a mammoth economic rescue package aimed at saving troubled US banks and easing a credit crunch that he warned could spell disaster for the US public.
After campaigning for the bailout for two weeks and courting reluctant lawmakers in person and by telephone, Bush signed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 before leaving Washington for the weekend.

Yes, I had forgotten about that meeting.
There is a lot of Bush bashing going on here today, but I still have enough faith in President Bush to believe that he would not deliberately endanger the country's financial status.

The Harry Reid Seante was sitting on a pork list they wanted to pass but had no other bill to which they could hang the strips of rotting bacon, so Harry and Nancy had a great adventure. In the process they felt they could lay a trap for John McCain. You see the Pelosi House never intended to pass the first draft because the Democrat criminal enterprise intended to add the pork cooking in the Harry Reid Senate. Had the House passed the MOnday bill, the Senate could have added layers of pork, but then the redesigned bill would have been sent to the House for conferencing and the process would have taken perhaps weeks. So once again the Democrap Congress raped the American taxpayer using a crisis to do it in order to give their criminal asses cover for the thievery. But the media will not explain this to the American voter because We The People might just string a few of the freaks up to light poles and burned the capital down! Those who lost the base of their 401Ks on Tuesday were ignored as the Democrats worked their criminal magic to get their pork through.

C’mon folks. Surely both McCain and Bush know that in the end this bill will be shot down by the high court as unconstitutional.

So much for McCain and the Republican party.
Sorry guys, I can't support this. In one or two weeks (maybe less), they will be asking for more. This won't make the banks lend any more than paying the danegold got rid of the Viking raiders. All it will do will make them ask for more next time.
And there will be at least one more major bail out before November.

Like the Supreme Court is going to strike down anything this socialist. Congress probably put in new furnishings, increased expense accounts, and a pay raise in this bill just to make sure the SC was on board.
