I have a friend high up in Wachovia who says this deal with Citi was forced upon them on a Sunday evening by the FDIC.
Citi wrecked TRAVELERS, thou after TRAVELERS got spun off... it is coming back. Citi failed down here so, I think Wells Fargo is the better choice!
