“Why? About a month ago I saw a report where Obama had spent $5 million in Florida while McCain didn’t spend a cent. He didn’t need to. He was leading and continues to lead in the Florida polls. Since then Obama and the media have made a huge push on Florida. So McCain has spent some money recently (I don’t know exact figures). So? Sounds like smart use of his money to me.”
Let me get this straight. A state that has always been 50-50 with razorsharp election results, a truly purple state, with a large registered-voter advantage going to the Rats, should be left alone, with not a SINGLE CENT spent, while your opponent spends $5 Million there? In a year where the economy has gone sour in the state and hit here very hard? Is that what you are suggesting to be good strategy and smart use of money? Not a cent?
You may not have seen polling out of our state for a good while, but if you think that McCain continues to have the polling lead in this state at this point, you are mistaken:

Looking at polling don’t you think it is high time to SPEND MONEY in this state instead of letting yourself be outspent $5 Million to “not a cent” and see all polling go the other way as a result?
As I said, I hope McCain pulls out of Michigan only so he starts spending money on the must-wins Florida, Virginia, Ohio, with perhaps an eye on Pennsylvania as a potential if polls tighten up a bit nationally.
Concerning money allocated, I suggest you re-read my post again.
