I listened to Republican Senator Norm Coleman this morning explaining that even though the calls into his Office were 80:1 against the bailout, he voted for it anyway as it was the "right thing to do".
This is "taxation without representation" writ large. This unConstitutional tax bill and transfer of power are the final death knell for the Republic IMO.
