THE CHOICE - PBS FRONTLINE

WATCH VIDEO EXCERPTS ONLINE

It is one of the most memorable presidential elections in decades. It is a race that pits the iconoclast John McCain against the newcomer Barack Obama; the heroic former prisoner of war against the first African American major party nominee. For two hours, the 20th anniversary broadcast of The Choice examines the rich personal and political biographies of these men and goes behind the headlines to discover how they arrived at this moment and what their very different candidacies say about America.

Watch The Choice 2008 on air and streaming free online beginning Tuesday, October 14, at 9 pm on PBS. Also, please check local listings for national television rebroadcasts on Sunday, October 26 and Monday, November 3, 2008.

Well the last time I offered up a program for your review I got blasted. Now you may say, that i should have learned my lesson, but as I have been an avid reader of these pages since the Clinton administration, i like to contribute when I can.

Some of you may call this "self promotion," but I like to call it "spreading the word." I was however the editor of this program.

There are TWO excerpts from the program (look to the right on the web page) on the PBS/FRONTLINE website. I hope you watch them as well as the program.

I would also like to know how (next time) I can embed them in this message.

thank you. I look forward to your comments, I think.

I’m a big fan of Frontline. I’ll try and watch.

I’ve decided they’re best on non-political topics. I didn’t appreciate the all out attempt to crush GWB in 2004...left a bad taste. I know thats not up to you though.

"The Choice examines the rich personal and political biographies of these men and goes behind the headlines.....".

Yeah right.

They're going to talk about:

--Community organizing with ACORN,

--Reforming Chicago education with William "Kill Your Parents" Ayers,

--Taking care of George Obama,

--growing up in a family of extremist radical nuts.

Oh, sure they are.

What the heck do they have to say on Obama? His Muslim roots, time in Indonesia, Harvard days (that he obviously wants to keep quiet), personal life (mean Michelle, Rev. Wright, terrorist friends), political life (how he won his state legislature seat, 143 days actually in the Senate)??? Obama may be ‘clean and articulate’ but he doesn’t pass the smell test. It will be interesting to see how they ‘sanitize’ him.
