37% - Ready on Day One? (BARF!)
Pew Research via Yahoo (Pee-yew!) ^ | 10/2/2008 | Too ashamed to say

Posted on 10/02/2008 5:34:41 AM PDT by PreciousLiberty

In advance of tonight’s vice presidential debate, fewer than four-in-ten (37%) Americans say Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as president if necessary, while a majority (63%) say her opponent, Joe Biden, is qualified for the job. More than half (52%) viewed Palin as qualified in early September. Women are slightly less likely than men to view Palin as qualified. Both Palin and Biden are viewed favorably by a majority of Americans, but while views of Biden have remained virtually unchanged over the past month, the number of people viewing Palin unfavorably has risen from 32% to currently 40% as views have become increasingly polarized along partisan lines.

Today's Palin hitpiece on Yahoo.

Article is generally glowing about the public's perception of NObama. I continue to be amazed that the slimeball MSM say not a word about NObama's lack of qualifications to be President.

Palin is a great person and leader, she needs to hit a home run tonight! GO SARAH!

McCain/Palin '08!

After reading the title, I thought this was about Obama.

Oh, Sarah’s gonna do so well tonight! I hope she makes Biden run out of the room crying!!!

I think the liberal socialists have severely underestimated Sarah Palin and tonight they’re going to see how tough she really is!

GO SARAH!!!!

Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes truth.

The press has done a fine job of that in Palin’s case.

Barney Frank and Chrisopher Dodd have lots of experience. It's overrated.

Governor Palin has actual accomplishments to her name.

John McCain answered this perfectly when he was interviewed by the Des Moines newspaper recently. When the reporter asked him why he chose someone with “so little experience”, he respectfully, but very forcefully disagreed. He said something along the lines of remembering a gov from California, and a gov from a small state called Arkansas, both of whom became wildly popular & successful presidents for two terms. I’d never thought of answering Palin critics that way.

Governor Palin needs to come through big tonight. This is much like the eve of her acceptance speech. It is one of just a few times that the voters are really paying attention.

She came though beyond expectations at the convention. I expect she will be ready again tonight.

I wonder what similar numbers for Quayle were at this point 20 years ago. In any case it did not seem to harm VP Bush, unless perhaps his margin would have been larger without Quayle.

Dan actually had way more experience than Obama, having 2 terms in the House and 8 years in the Senate. He beat out long time incumbents for both seats so he must have done something right.

I’m amazed that people consider a serial plagiarist like Biden qualified to serve as dog catcher.

I’m more amazed that people want to turn their lives over to a pair of socialists because the chief socialist is glib.

I’m even more amazed that the GOP has been unable to nominate anyone since Reagan who can string together a complete, thoughtful, insightful, coherent sentence. Reagan’s legacy won one post-Gipper election and Democrat incompetence handed us two more.

America is the greatest nation on earth and this is the best we can do out of 300 million of us? Something is seriously wrong with our democracy.

The best thing McCain did was pick Palin as VP. She is the most Reaganesque candidate I’ve seen since the Gipper himself. Hopefully, she’ll be the frontrunner in four years and rescue us for the socialist malaise the sheeple seem destined to foist on us.

No matter how well Palin does tonight, you won’t hear it on MSM...All you’ll hear is, “Is Palin qualified?” “Can palin manage both a job and family?” “Palin lies...” “Palin cheats..” “Palin’s daughter is a whore..”...

The MSM is the most disgusting propagandizing unit I’ve seen since Pravda in the old USSR....Nothing but lie after lie....

AND STUPID AMERICANS ARE BUYING IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I like Sarah Palin, but I disagree. She has a very shallow understanding of the issues of the day or the solutions. I think of her as someone who only reads the headlines of the newspaper and does not read the entire article before forming an opinion.

If the debate moderator asks a question and Palin answers with her "canned campaign answer", she will be exposed as a poser if a follow up question is asked that forces her to dig deeper into the issue. She cannot give a circular answer that brings her response back to the original answer. She will sound like a robot.

Joe Biden will have years of experience and annecdotes to draw upon to answer ANY questions. He will be able to bullsh1t the audience into thinking he knows what he is talking about because he brings the authority of 30 years in the Senate.

AMERICAN MEDIA:

STEP 1: take a poll and find an approval rating of 70%-80%.

STEP 2: pummel candidate viciously and relentlessly for 1 month.

STEP 3: take poll (using willing accomplice polling company) to check approval rating drop.

STEP 4: celebrate and congratulate in large media celebration.

The campaign problem with Sarah is that McCain “owns” her. She does appear to be unfamiliar of some national issues. Whether she actually is or not doesn’t matter to a voter. Perception does. It appears she relies on McCain’s advisers for details post-interview. But she can’t take that info and spout out her own views on it. She must repackage it to comport with the McCain campaign or at least phrase her opinion as congenial disagreement (i.e. ANWR).
I hope she shows in the debate that she has been sandbagging with the Couric interviews but the bottom-line is she has had only two months or so to prepare for this campaign. Even though she is a quick study she hasn’t had the 4 years of Obama or 30 years of Biden.

The campaign still falls to McCain to win or lose. He is responsible for the outcome not her.

i am definitely hearing mccain defending her pretty strongly. he may be defending HIS decision more than actually defending her. I think they are trying to piss off McCain. It sounds like he is getting very irratated.

I heard the same damn question put to him 3 times this morning on 3 different shows. THIS “MEDIA” sound like a broken record.
