I wonder if this was the popular Taurus revolver called "the Judge".

DH has a cute little gun, shoots shotgun shells. He says it is like to shoot snakes,no distance, holds two shells. Funny, you can’t saw off a shotgun but these are legal.

Burgy, 23, took off after the shooting, but police later tracked him down at Southern Hills where he was recovering from a non-critical gunshot wound to the head. Must have missed his brain.

Thanks - That’s the kind of bed time story I like to read!

2 hits at close range with a .410 containing pumpkin balls is real messy. Each shell has 4-5 .40 cal balls, basically. The high brass shells only have 4.
Good close in weapon when needed, but 5 rounds max I think in that revolver.

I’m guessing an American Derringer .410/45 Long Colt.
I own one and would NOT want to be on the receiving end of the .410 round. Shot pattern is wicked, as the .410 is almost as long as the barrel. Can fire triple ought rounds.
Never hit anything firing the 45 long colt.
I love a story with a happy ending.

Could also be a 45/410 derringer. And a number of older designs could shoot 410, like the old Thunder Five (which is more likely than the Taurus.)

My first thought was the Taurus. They specifically advertised it as a good gun to carry in your car or truck.
